Nathaniel Stevens letter, 1845 May 5.

Letter from John Phillips, a commission merchant in Mobile, Ala., to his client Nathaniel Stevens, a manufacturer based in North Andover, Mass., describing a sale of several bales of flannel that Stevens shipped on the brig Gulnare. Phillips apologizes for the poor price at which he sold the bales, explaining that the market in Mobile is currently oversaturated with flannel.
